Variation on African Fertility Symbol
Using Caren D’Ache crayons and textured plates on rice papers, artist Janet Henry creates rubbings depicting "wealthy swells" adorned with "Trump Death Masks". This series includes a predecessor demonstrating the technique, with all pieces measuring 9 x 12 inches and being produced during the current pandemic. Additionally, Janet Henry has explored line drawings, some of which were created during her time with JAM and are in the process of being converted from slide form. The artist also references the "African Fertility Symbol", dating back to 2009.
